Constructionline Gold! >

In the run up to our launch event at the end of January 2020, we were thrilled to receive our Constructionline Gold Membership. After achieving Silver membership in May 2018, we have developed our quality policy, BIM protocols and environmental policy to stand up to the highest level of scrutiny required by Constructionline Gold standards.

When we developed our studio, we installed an air source heat pump. The Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a government environmental programme that provides financial incentives to increase the uptake of renewable heat by businesses, the public sector and non-profit organisations. In November 2019, we finally received our acceptance on the RHI scheme for the air source heat pump.

One of our initiatives on the environmental policy was to look to recycle our food waste. We eat a lot of bananas and drink a lot of coffee. At one point we were looking to get a wormery installed in the office to recycle the food waste! The worms would break down the waste to feed our plants. Following concerns the worms may over heat in the summer we thankfully managed to find a commercial food recycling to take away the waste!

In addition to this, we have considered what we can do on a day to day basis to improve our environmental management. We are now buying toilet paper from Who Gives A Crap since moving to the office - 50% of their profits goes towards building toilets for those in need, it's recycled with no plastic packaging

For CPD lunches, we avoid single-use plastic products by buying from the deli counter (to avoid packaging and pre-packed sandwiches) and local whenever possible.

Paper useage is tracked by keeping a paper-log for tracking the amount of paper we use in the office (A4, A3 and A1) . We are also introducing scrap paper boxes for re-using paper.

By achieving Constructionline's Gold standard we have reached one of the highest levels of accreditation for SME's on offer, surpassing the requirements of PAS91 and meeting the 'Extended PQQ requirements' that many high end contracts require.

Achieving Constructionline Gold membership only 18 months after Constructionline Silver membership is a testimony of our commitment to continuously getting better at what we do..
