Highest sprung floor
Working on alterations and additions to existing buildings often involves sifting through years of changes to understand the original structure. However, that is not always the case. We are currently working on the installation of a sprung concrete floor in a tower block in London to acoustically isolate the new gym floor from the floor below.
The product we are working with is a US system called LIFTWRX Spring Lift Slab Floor Mount by Kinetics Noise Control. It is being installed on the 56th floor of the 77 storey tall Landmark Pinnacle tower block in London. It is the first time this product is used in the UK and it will be at the highest level it has ever been installed in Europe.
With the LIFTWRX canisters installed at centres of between 950mm to 1250mm, the new concrete slab is poured. Once cured, the new concrete slab is ‘lifted’ to its required position, while rubber cap assembly protects against resonant frequencies.
