Join Us For a SOLID Party!

A SOLID 20 Years!

From simple beginnings in 2005 to two thriving offices today, we are proud to celebrate 20 years of growth, collaboration, and design excellence. To mark this milestone, we’re hosting a very special party at North Gate Hall on Wednesday 19th November, and we’d love to see you there!

Join us for drinks and nibbles at North Gate Hall,

18 St Michael’s Street, Oxford, OX1 2DU

from 5pm.

Why North Gate Hall?

If you’ve passed the site or followed our updates, you’ll know the hall is in mid-transformation. With steel rising, walls exposed, and history revealed, it’s a building in a state of raw evolution.

That’s exactly why it’s the perfect venue. Just as SOLID has evolved over the past two decades, North Gate Hall is uncovering its past whilst being reshaped for the future. Starting its life as the United Methodist Free Church in 1871, the building has been offices, Oxford’s Lesbian and Gay Community Centre, a drop-in centre for homeless people and most recently, Bill’s Restaurant. Together with Quinlan Terry Architects and Barr Build, we are stripping back those layers of history to bring North Gate Hall back to its origins as a place of worship for Oxford Presbyterian Church. We are reinstating lost features and removing dated, 20th century additions not in keeping with the property.

Our anniversary celebration will be your chance to step inside, see the layers of history up close, witness SOLID’s approach as a work in progress and see the building in its most intriguing form.

We can’t wait to raise a glass with you in this remarkable space.
