The Challenge
Past projects on the Brewery have proved challenging The repairs to the roof of the Copper House were particularly complex. Over 100 years of steam from the open-top copper vessel had led to the deterioration of the timber roof structure.
The SOLID Approach
Throughout the project careful attention to the detail was undertaken to ensure the historic intervention was minimised with final solutions allowing the reinstatement of the historic mouldings to minimise the visual impact. Solutions were modelled in 3D CAD to ensure suitability.
Being appointed as engineers on the project from the initial stages of the visitor has enabled us to advise on the strategic master plan, allowing us to consider how best to future proof the development. With the brewery’s vision underpinned by values such as sustainability, traceability, authenticity, honesty, and accessibility and with community at its core, extensive planning has been vital.
