A SOLID Decade With Mark

A SOLID Anniversary for Mark

As work anniversaries go... this is a pretty big one. Mark Harris is celebrating 10 YEARS with the SOLID team. After graduating from the University of Bath he worked at Atkins, Young and Webb, and Gifford and the Ramboll Group before joining SOLID as a director in 2012.

25 Years of Engineering

When it comes to engineering, for Mark, the more challenging, the better. Whether designing major steel framed solutions, carefully crafted timber work or off shutter concrete structures, his aim is to provide clear, cost effective, professional advice. Mark has certainly racked up some outstanding projects over the course of his 25-year career (Cardiff Millennium Stadium to name just one!) and has just hit 1,776 projects here at SOLID - WOW! That's a lot of engineering!

Engineering Accolades

Mark’s projects have achieved numerous accolades from the Oxford Preservation Trust, the Concrete Society, the Steel Industry, the Institute of Structural Engineers, the Institute of Civil Engineers, the Civic Society and the RIBA. We feel very lucky to have him as a director and we look forward to many more years of watching Mark tackle engineering challenges.

A Snapshot of Mark’s SOLID Projects

Of course, we couldn't help but share some photos of Mark in action as well as some of his very first project with us - St Andrew's Church - which he began designing in July 2012, with the steel erected in April 2014. With so many exciting projects to choose from, it was difficult to decide on a handful of images, here are just a select few of our favourites.

Do you have a challenging project that you would like Mark, or another member of the SOLID team to tackle? Why not contact us to discuss your ideas?
