Opening Night at The Fox in Oddington
Following an extensive renovation, the Fox at Oddington has opened its doors to the public and is already proving itself popular with the Cotswold locals. The SOLID team were invited to a pre-opening night drink last Thursday to get a sneaky glimpse of the new look. With so much to see we couldn’t resist snapping a few photos to share with you.
Restaurant Extension
Whilst The Fox oozed countryside charm before its refurbishment, The Daylesford team, who have taken The Fox over, have stepped that charm up a gear. The pub now radiates Cotswold Chic, with lavish interior design and luxurious mod-cons it is no doubt about to become the go-to destination for anyone wanting a weekend out of the city.
To bring The Fox up to standard, the Daylesford team had ambitious ideas to extend the pub to the rear, allowing enough space for a large restaurant as well as six comfortable bedroom suites. SOLID were appointed to design the structure of the single-storey extension. Whilst not only adding to the restaurant space, the extension also provides a ‘living’ flat roof, creating a varied habitat for pollinators. Various structural elements throughout the existing building were also designed by the SOLID team however, nothing was removed from the traditional architecture. Whilst the pub has been updated, the rustic countryside appeal remains.

Interior Design Inspired by The Cotswolds
With the bedrooms inspired by the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, each provides comfortable accommodation in neutral tones, with nods to the surrounding environment. Hand crafted elements are made from materials sourced locally. The food too is local produce and always seasonal.
We think you will agree, the architecture by Haines Gadd Greaves, the construction by Stonewood Builders and the stunning interiors by the Daylesford Team deserve a round of applause. Not to mention the food and drink! We can’t wait to be back.
