Lickhill Pumping Station

Severn Trent is building a new pumping station at Lickhill as part of the Birmingham Resilience Project.

HAC (now part of SOLID) carried out a stress analysis of the pipework.  The pipework and the surge vessels were modelled with the main structure to simulate the support conditions which induced additional stresses in the pipework.  Areas of pipework with concentrated stressed were identified for further elastic-plastic analysis by a specialist consultant.

HAC (now part of SOLID) were appointed by Ward & Burke who designed, supplied and installed the pipework and the surge vessels within the pumping station.
