The Fox at Oddington Refurbishment
The SOLID team are very much looking forward to the opening of The Fox at Oddington following its recent refurbishment. The Fox will be a welcome addition to the Daylesford Family’s collection of pubs which include The Wild Rabbit, launched back in 2013, and will remain a quintessential Cotswold country pub. With pub classics on the menu, roaring fires, and a spacious terrace it will no doubt become a go to destination on both chilly winter days and glorious summer afternoons.

Living Roof for Pollinators
For the Fox to live up to the Daylesford branding, it has received a full renovation and extension. SOLID were appointed to design the structure for the single-storey extension, positioned to the rear of the pub, as well as structural elements throughout the existing building. We are particularly proud of the extension which provides the space for a fantastic ‘living roof’; the flat roof planted up with a wide range of British wildflowers, creating a varied habitat for pollinators.

Sustainability in Design
Sustainability has been a priority throughout the development, alongside the living roof the pub is powered by renewable energy and wherever possible, sustainable materials have been used. Once opened, the pub food will be sourced from the Daylesford Organic estate alongside hand-picked British growers and will always be seasonal produce. Much of the alcohol will also be sourced from local breweries that embrace a sustainable, environmentally friendly approach.
The Fox Launches This July
We are excited to see the project complete and are now tantalisingly close with the accommodation all but finished. Each room echoes the stunning Cotswold countryside surroundings, with natural, warm tones and hand-crafted elements made from locally sourced materials. With every room offering a ‘suite’ like set up, with ensuite bathroom, living room area and desk as well as being kitted out with the luxurious Bamford organic products (all with recycled packaging of course) it will certainly make the perfect spot for a relaxing break.
The Fox was a great project to work on alongside architects Haines Gadd Greaves and contractor Stonewood Builders. We look forward to sharing further images with you of the completed project following the launch this July and wish the Daylesford team every success with their new ventures.
